Our Philosophy
Our goal is to efficiently assemble the necessary information to evaluate each file to determine which cases should be marked for resolution efforts at an early stage and which should be aggressively litigated to protect our client's interests. We tailor our handling to suit the individual client’s needs.
History
In 1964, Robert Hanger began his legal career as in-house counsel for Employers of Wausau, following graduation from UCLA School of Law. In 1965, he went to work for the prestigious Wyman, Bautzer, Rothman & Kuchel law firm where he quickly moved up the ranks and was promoted to partner. In 1974, a number of partners parted amicably to form the firm of Stein, Hanger, Levine & Young, which went on to handle a broad spectrum of complex cases, including product liability cases, asbestos litigation, the Film Lab Cases, land slippage and subsidence, toxic tort, and environmental litigation.
After undergraduate studies at New York University College of Business and Public Administration, Jody Steinberg moved west and graduated Cum Laude from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1989. After mentoring under Robert Hanger and Robert Levine, the three joined forces and founded Hanger, Levine & Steinberg in 1995.
Marc Shapiro received his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and his juris doctorate from the University of San Diego School of Law. Mr. Shapiro was elevated to principal in 2001.
Paul Ash received his undergraduate degree from the University of California Santa Barbara and his juris doctorate from Pepperdine University School of Law. Mr. Ash was elevated to principal in 2002.
